intaglio

Here are some photos of the plates and the process of creating the second - larger - CMYK intaglio (drypoint) print, "Fitzwater Sunshine."

I was quick to attempt another four-color intaglio print but this time using the drypoint method. I couldn't make half-tone separations with dots using drypoint, so I decided to do the next best thing, use parallel lines in different directions, one for each process color. Here's how it all shook out.

All about learning a better way of using carborundum to make collagraphs that I can actually print with the intaglio method.

After revisiting much-loved printmaking methods with relative success, I branched out with experimental techniques and found I much more practice is needed to master them.
